22. Massachusetts...Convicted 1971
An all white jury for the murder of a white victim sentenced Johnson, a black man to death.In 1982, the charges were dropped when a previously silent eyewitness came forward and identified the states start witness as the actual killer. In 1983 a bill was filed to obtain compensation for Johnson's wrongful conviction.

Florida...Convicted 1981
Mr. Jarramillo was convicted and sentenced to death for a double murder, despite the jury's unanimous recommendation of a life sentence.On appeal, his conviction was reversed when the Florida Supreme Court ruled that the evidence against him did not support the conviction. Evidence suggests that the roommate may have been the killer.Jarramillo was then deported to his native Columbia was he was murdered.
